Processing of personal data
The Estonian Trans Alliance (Eesti Transinimeste Ühing) collects and processes personal data in accordance with the following principles. The alliance operates on the principle that everyone has the right to the protection of their personal data and the right to decide how their personal data is used.
Principles of personal data processing
- The alliance collects and processes personal data only to the extent necessary to achieve its organisational objectives.
- Personal data submitted to the alliance is used solely for the purpose for which they were provided. The alliance deletes or anonymises data once processing is no longer necessary.

- The alliance enables individuals to access, correct, or block their personal data if the data is inaccurate or incomplete.
What data we collect and process
The alliance has internal rules governing who has access to specific information. Emails sent to the general address and letters received by post are reviewed by a designated data controller, who forwards the information to the relevant staff member(s) as appropriate. A more detailed overview of data collection and processing can be found [here].
Social media
To achieve its goals, the alliance uses the social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, and Discord. No data are exported from these platforms.
Rights of data subjects
If you have any comments, questions, concerns, or complaints regarding the collection and use of your personal data — or if you wish to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data — please contact the data controller using the contact details below.
You also have the right to contact the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or a court to protect your rights.
